Hi Everyone…

I finally got to sit down for a bit tonight and sew a little…this is a little something I made tonight for a birthday gift. I used Amy Butler’s fabric from her Lotus Collection. The pattern is from Kathy Mack of Pink Chalk Studio. The pattern is found in Joelle Hoverson’s book, Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts. I altered the pattern a bunch…it is technically for a pencil roll and the interior on the pattern has strips of different color fabric relating to the colored pencil. I opted to use one solid fabric, and I also made it shorter in length. I also top stitched a 1/4 seam around the entire thing, so I wouldn’t have to blind stitch it closed.(I am a horrible hand sewer!) I also used a quilt/craft natural batting…I think it might be a little thick, so next time, I will follow Kathy’s pattern. Overall I am happy with the result.

I am working on a bunch of top secret projects which stinks because I want to post about them but I can’t!! Not for a few more months!! I can give you a sneak peak of one that I can post about soon…here is a sneak peak of the fabric.

I’m excited it’s the weekend!! Hope you all have a great one and keep checking in…don’t forget to leave comments!
